Review: Wouk’s “The Language GOD Talks.”
I’ve just finished reading The Language GOD Talks: On Science and Religion by Herman Wouk. You may remember Wouk as author of The Caine Mutiny and the magisterial novels about WW2 The Winds of War and War and Remembrance, or more likely the film versions. One reviewer called it , “A stunning rumination.” It is. In a few pages he sketches out the plot and characters and plot of his two great novels (each 1000 pages long) and his conversations with Nobel prize winning scientists on the two competing world views: science and religion – especially Judaism. Though over 90 when completed, Wouk retains the skill of the Pulitzer Prize winning playwright.
